DESL

Welcome to the Decision and Economic Sciences Laboratory. We are comprised of researchers interested in decision making in a variety of environments. We conduct experiments to better understand how and why people make decisions.

Undergraduates who have been Research Assistants in DESL have attended Ph.D. programs at Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, the University of Maryland, Boston University, UC-Irvine, SUNY Purchase, UC-Berkeley, SUNY Upstate Medical University, Northeastern University School of Law, and are employed as a Principal Statistician at Neustar, a Senior Growth Associate at Hawthorne, a Software Developer at Zippity, a Global Supply Chain Planner at Bristol Myers Squibb, as a Data Scientist at Facebook, and as a UX Researcher at Google.

You can read about the successes of several former members of DESL, Allysa Kemraj, Janiya Peters, and Priya Jain.

Become a Research Assistant. The success of the lab depends upon the involvement of bright and motivated undergraduates, and we welcome your interest. Our research projects are interdisciplinary, using methods in behavioral and experimental economics and cognitive science. As a research assistant in the lab, you will have the opportunity to participate in and learn about various phases of the research process, including design of studies, recruitment of participants, collection and analysis of data, and preparation of data for presentation and publication. Undergraduate research assistants may also develop independent research projects. If all of this sounds interesting to you, please complete the interest form.
